Bae Ji-Hwan doubles and scores as Pittsburgh falls to 1-10

Pittsburgh’s Bae Ji-hwan (24) doubled and scored a run, but his team lost.

Bae Ji-hwan batted first and played second base against the Chicago Cubs in a Major League Baseball home game at PNC Park in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on April 28.

메이저놀이터In the first inning, Bae took a 140.3-kilometer-per-hour (mph) cutter from Javier Asad on a two-pitch at-bat and smashed a double to right-center field. Sprinting full speed, Bae landed at second base with his helmet off, much like Kim Ha-seong (San Diego). Bae then advanced to third on a Brian Reynolds grounder to first, and came home on a Key Brian Hayes grounder to second. His 41st run of the season.

Bae struck out in his next three at-bats, however. His batting average dropped slightly to .237 and his OPS to .620. Pittsburgh fell to the Cubs by a score of 1-10. After losing their second straight game the day before, Pittsburgh is now 58-73 and in fourth place in the National League Central.
