Cho Kyu-sung negotiates with Mittwillan in Denmark…”Director Park Ji-sung convinced”

‘Striker’바카라 Cho Kyu-sung (Jeonbuk), who is looking to make a move to Europe in this summer’s transfer market, is shifting his destination from England to Denmark.

In a phone conversation with Yonhap News Agency, Cho’s agent, Yoon Ki-young of Info Korea, said, “We received an offer from Mittwylan in early May, but the negotiations were stopped because the player was hesitant. We have stopped talking to other clubs and are negotiating with Meatwillan.”

“Initially, we thought the English Championship (second division) clubs were better than Meatwillan, and the player didn’t like Meatwillan at first,” Yoon said, adding, “Jeonbuk and Meatwillan talked, and Director Park convinced Cho Kyu-sung, so the transfer negotiations took a radical turn.”

Cho emerged as a “surprise star” at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar last year, scoring multiple goals with headers, and after the World Cup, the atmosphere seemed to be ripe for a move to Europe, as several clubs approached him.

However, Jeonbuk wanted him to enter Europe through the summer transfer window instead of the winter transfer window, and he agreed.

When Cho Kyu-sung injured his calf in an A match in March, he was sidelined for more than two months, and interest from overseas clubs dwindled.

In May, Meatwillan also showed interest in Jo Kyu-sung while negotiations with English Championship clubs such as Watford and Blackburn continued. Jeonbuk’s director Park Ji-sung recommended Meatwillan to Jo Kyu-sung, and Jo Kyu-sung respected Park’s words and began negotiations in earnest. According to British media, the transfer fee for Cho Kyu-sung is reportedly in the 4 billion won range.

Founded in 1999, Mittwilan is an emerging powerhouse in the 12-team Danish professional soccer Superliga. It has won the regular season title three times (2014-2015-2017-2018-2019-2020) and finished runner-up five times.
