‘Escape from losing streak’ KEPCO, will I take the last train of ‘Spring Volleyball’ this year?

Men’s professional volleyball KEPCO saved the fire of ‘Spring Volleyball’.

KEPCO, led by coach Kwon Young-min, won an away game against 메이저놀이터 Hyundai Capital in the 6th round of the Dodram 2022-2023 V-League Men’s Regular League held at Cheonan Yu Gwan-soon Gymnasium on the 9th with a set score of 3-0 (25-21 25-20 25-22). .

4th place KEPCO, which recently fell into the mire of two consecutive losses, secured a foothold to escape from sluggishness by winning a ‘shutout’ after a long time. They caught the ‘big fish’ of 2nd place Hyundai Capital and earned 3 points, further increasing their chances of advancing to the postseason.

On the other hand, Hyundai Capital, which was busy chasing Korean Air, suffered two fatal losses in a row and was further away from winning the regular league.

KEPCO, the difference in concentration made by desperation

The two teams revealed a difference in concentration from the first set. KEPCO saved the ball with persistent dig and scored, while Hyundai Capital made frequent mistakes. Hyundai Capital coach Choi Tae-woong unusually called the players from the start of the game and reprimanded them, but there was no major change.

On the contrary, Hyundai Capital faced the bad news of Jeon Kwang-in being replaced due to a broken ankle injury during the blocking process, and KEPCO won the first set much more comfortably than expected while steadily accumulating points with stable attack power led by Lim Seong-jin.

KEPCO, which gained momentum, put pressure on Hyundai Capital in the second set. Foreign striker Tais Dull Host (registered name Tais), who had been sluggish with only two points in the first set, came back to life and continued to lead without a major crisis throughout the set.

On the other hand, Hyundai Capital, where one axis of the triangular formation collapsed due to Jeon Kwang-in’s injury, tried to fill the empty score with a quick attack using Park Sang-ha, but there was no destructive power enough to turn the game around.

The third set was not easy. KEPCO gave up the lead when Hyundai Capital’s Oreol Cameho’s three consecutive serve aces broke out. However, Seo Jae-deok came out as a solution. At the end of the set, he led a reversal with an exciting open attack and a serve ace, and KEPCO won the 3rd set and won a valuable victory on the expedition.

On the other hand, Hyundai Capital was also disappointed with the loss, but if Jeon Kwang-in is confirmed with a major injury ahead of spring volleyball, he will suffer more than one loss.
