Jeju drew 2-2 with Gangwon FC in the 16th round of Hana One Q K League 1 (Part 1) 2023 held at Jeju World Cup Stadium on the 3rd at 7pm. Thanks to the two goals of Ahn Hyun-beom and Yuri Jonatan, Jeju raised its ranking from 3rd to 2nd with 8 wins, 4 draws and 4 losses with 28 points.
Jeju, led by Yuri Jonatan, took out Kim Dae-hwan and Jonathan Ring attack cards. Lee Ju-yong, Han Jong-moo, Lee Chang-min, and Ahn Hyun-beom were built as midfielders. Jung-woon, Lim Chae-min, and Kim O-gyu were put in the defensive line along with goalkeeper Kim Dong-jun.
Gangwon deployed Lee Jeong-hyeop as a target striker, and placed Kim Dae-won and Yang Hyun-joon on both sides. Kim Jin-ho, Seo Min-woo, Hankook-young, and Kang Ji-hoon were placed in the midfield, and Yoon Seok-young, Kim Young-bin, and Lim Chang-woo built the defense. Yoo Sang-hoon put on his goalkeeper gloves.
3rd place Jeju showed an advantage over 11th place Gangwon from the first half. It even went to the Gangwon goal net, but it was declared offside and swallowed regret. However, from the middle of the first half, they were pushed back a little, and the starting point was Kim Dae-won’s shot in the 25th minute. Goalkeeper Kim Dong-Jun’s finger was hit and the goal was canceled after being hit by the right post.
Gangwon aimed for a surprise in the away game with Kim Dae-won succeeding in scoring in the 15th game. In the 38th minute of the first half, the ball that flowed into the penalty box from the left side was finished with a right-footed direct inside shot. The Jeju defense was in the box, but they couldn’t cut the cross and let it go. Lee Jeong-hyeop kept the Jeju defense in check.
Jeju finished the first half 0-1, but Seo Jin-su and Kim Bong-soo, who replaced Kim Dae-hwan and Han Jong-moo, came back to life in the 20th minute, and Hayes and Ahn Tae-hyun, who came in after Jonathan Ling and Lee Ju-yong, came back to life at halftime, quickly chasing Gangwon. Hayes hit a powerful mid-range shot as soon as the second half started. This was hit and refracted by Ahn Hyeon-beom and recorded as Ahn Hyeon-beom’s goal.
Then, 5 minutes later, in the 6th minute of the second half, Yuri Jonatan, a foreign player, did not miss Gangwon’s backpass miss and took it right into the opponent’s box and ended it with a chip shot. Kim Bong-soo’s strong pressure induced Gangwon to back pass. Yuri Jonatan celebrated Changmin Lee’s enlistment with a salute ceremony. Lee Chang-min, who spent 8 years in Jeju alone, will perform his military service as a social worker for the K-League 4 Geoje Citizens Football Team on the 12th.
In the 24th minute of the second half, Kangwon took out Yang Hyeon-jun and Kang Ji-hoon and put Gallego and Jung Seung-yong in to pursue the game. In the 31st minute of the second half, Park Sang-hyeok and Kim Dae-woo entered instead of Lee Jeong-hyeop and Seo Min-woo. It was Gangwon who wanted to score a tie with a fierce counterattack.
However, Jeju did not back down and fought back, suppressing Gangwon’s advance. He did his best to decorate Changmin Lee’s last game before enlistment with a victory, starting with the remaining foreign players and squeezing even the strength he had been suckling.
In Gangwon, too, Gallego, who just entered Gangwon, surprised Jeju with a reckless dash. The second shot following Kim Dae-won’s mid-range shot missed, but in the ensuing situation, Kim Jin-ho’s dynamic break through the side broke the Jeju defense helplessly, and Park Sang-hyeok exquisitely stepped in and made it 2-2 with this cross. Afterwards, both teams fought fiercely, but the match ended in a draw with no further goals scored.
