Eze is a 25-year-old attacking midfielder who scored 10 goals and provided four assists in the Premier League last season. However, it looks like Manchester City are about to lose out to West Ham. City have reportedly finalized a personal agreement with Dokou, but Rennes are more interested in West Ham than City. The Hammers are flush with cash after selling Declan Rice to Arsenal for £150 million. They have made a bid for Dokou, but Rennes want at least £50 million for him.
In response, City gave up on Dokou and turned their attention to Eze. Kevin De Bruyne’s injury also had an impact. He’s out for the season, but Ezekiel can fill the void left by De Bruyne in the attacking midfield, making him even more appealing to City.
Initially, Tottenham had expressed interest in Ezekiel, but City came out of nowhere. It’s not just any other team, it’s the reigning champions, the club that players want to play for. This created a headache for Tottenham.
